September 2024 Release v3.3.0

We’re excited to announce the launch of INVISION v3.3.0! This release introduces key backend improvements, infrastructure enhancements, and new features to enhance system performance and user experience.

Backend Improvements

  • Refined Data Upload Process (Upload → Convert → Merge → Post Process → GIS Workstation)

    • Optimized the merge process to perform operations directly in the database, increasing performance by 10x and significantly reducing bottlenecks when handling large shapefile datasets.

    • Streamlined post-upload steps by eliminating redundant checks and ensuring efficient processing of essential post-processing columns.

  • Apotiles v2.0 – Enhanced Tiling Service

    • Implemented Apotiles v2.0 with improved server response handling to mitigate timeouts when rendering a large number of features (machinedata) in a single tile.

    • Integrated Redis caching, reducing cache misses by 80%, ensuring smoother performance and minimal interruptions during high data load operations.

New Enhancements

  • New Imagery Data Export Feature

    • Protocol-Level Export: Users can now download a CSV/Excel file containing aggregated NDRE data across all fields, including grower details, field information, protocol name, imagery observation date, and statistical analysis (NDRE mean, data point count).

    • Field-Level Export: Enables users to download NDRE data for individual fields directly from View Fields, with the same detailed column structure as protocol-level exports.

    • Protocol Exports for Client Admins: Bulk export functionality has been moved from Super Admin to Client Admin, allowing clients to pull their own data exports during the season.

  • Field Enrollment - Boundary Intersection Checks

    • Super-admins can now view overlapping or intersecting fields during boundary enrollment, displaying details such as client, trial, protocol, field name, and owner to prevent duplicate enrollments.

  • Field Notes in Results PDF

    • Added functionality to include Field Notes and media attachments in PDF reports generated from View Fields, enhancing documentation for users tracking observations outside of Field Visits.

  • GIS Workstation Updates

    • Introduced a status chip to indicate the state of the data, preventing unintentional reversion to an unprocessed state.

  • Winter Wheat GDD Stages

    • Added Growing Degree Day (GDD) stages for Winter Wheat to INVISION, supporting enhanced crop growth analysis.

Bug Fixes

  • Ensured the ‘client-admin’ role takes precedence over ‘trial-grower’, preventing client-admins from seeing the grower enrollment pop-up.

  • Fixed an issue where dropout growers could not be re-enrolled into protocols.
